Allusion: to visualize something that seems real. For example earth on turtles back has many allusions that make up the whole story. Plot: is the main events in a story. Example of plot is in the pedestrian is a night still before being stopped by the police. Theme: the main idea of the story Diction: is the words an author chooses to put in his/her writing. Syntax is the way he/she arranges the words Direct Characterization: The author gives direct information on how the character is Indirect Characterization: The author reveals the character through clues or isn't direct about the Characters information. Symbolism: An object that is used to tell the reader what's going to happen in the future. Synecdoche: A sentence or phrase that explains The whole topic of a story
